Hi, nice to meet you!

Welcome to my blog!

In this space, I’ll share nutrition advice, recipes, and discuss trending nutrition topics. Here’s what you can expect:

Nutrition

My practice is informed by science and rooted in HAES principles. To practice ethically and combat nutrition misinformation, I always use science-based research to inform my nutrition recommendations. The internet is full of questionable nutrition advice from sketchy sources, and I take my responsibility to provide sound information, very seriously.

I’m a HAES (Health at Every Size) dietitian, which means I don’t believe that the size of your body is a determinant of health. I will never promote or recommend traditional and restrictive dieting. Science has shown us over and over that diets don’t work, and that they have long-term negative effects. I want to help you develop a healthy and loving relationship with food and your body.

It’s gotta be practical! If nutrition recommendations aren’t practical, cost-effective, and delicious, then they aren’t sustainable. I want to meet you where you are, and will tailor nutrition recommendations to your lifestyle, taste, culture, access, and ability. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all nutrition.

Cooking and Eating

If you’re looking for glossy photos with moody lighting, artfully scattered herbs, and perfectly scrunched kitchen towels, this blog will certainly disappoint. While I LOVE to peruse mouth-watering and aspirational food photos on Instagram and am an avid home cook, I am NOT an avid food photographer. But, I promise I’ll never share a recipe or recommend a product that I don’t absolutely love and believe in! It won’t always be pretty, but it will always be real.

Adventures!

I love to camp and play outdoors with my friends, and I hope to share some of the fueling strategies I use to optimize activity for performance and, more importantly, fun with you! Stay tuned for adventure snacks!

I hope this blog will be informational and inspirational. Above all, I want to make sure that nutrition I share with you is sustainable, practical, and delicious.

Sarah
